converting users to LDAP authentication. Can we bulk add users?

We are planning to move our authentication from ALM database to LDAP. We are on ALM 12..00 and we have several thousand active users. All of our users are currently managed by the system database however we have always set the users AD user id as the system accoiunt user name ( their current user name and their AD user name are the same) is there an easy way to transition over to LDAP authentication or does my support team need to conver one user at a time?

Re: converting users to LDAP authentication. Can we bulk add users?

If your user ids are unique in your LDAP system, it is possible to configure your ALM system to use LDAP, and then have the users updated automatically with the needed AD info during their first login to ALM. If you leave valid credentials in the screen where you configure the LDAP Import settings, then during the ALM login if the authentication fails (because the AD info is missing from the user record) ALM will try to find a matching user in the specified LDAP source and effectively "import" the user information.

Alterntely a developer could write a program that would extract the necessary info from your LDAP source and update the ALM user records using the Site Admin API.
