Enabling Open ID Connect using scope openid

Hi,
Its not really clear from any of the documentation as to how to create
the scope "openid" which is required for an OAuth client app to use Open
ID Connect. Do you need to create an "openid" scope in NAM or is it
simply that the app includes "openid" in the list of scopes it
requests?
If we need to create an "openid" scope in NAM what are the settings to
be applied.
Thanks
Mark
