How to put emergency message in Login page

Hi,

We have a portal which is protected by Novell Access Manager 3.1 with
customized login page.

So does Novell Access Manager provide any functionality or GUI (rather
than add the message with HTML tag in the code) to put any emergency
message like for maintenance or outage so that message can reflect in
login page of the portal?

Thanks,
RSV

No, you will have to edit the NAM login pages to either contain the
message itself, or customize it to have a link to a different publicly
accessible web server to display the information.

I guess I assumed the OP had their portal front-ended by the AG, and was
using authentication, in which case, the "login page" is really the IDP
login code, in which case I don't think Novell/NetIQ supports you
putting ajax code in there.

But maybe you mean putting an HREF or something like that in the .jar
file to reference it and display the message?

But either way, that will require customizing the nidp login pages
(which is documented, and supported to the extent that you aren't
running "other" code on the IDP).

Or maybe the OP meant that he wanted the notification on the origin web
server itself???
