Self-Service Password Reset / eDirectory Password Mgmt NAM

Greetings,

We are moving from eDirectory to Active Directory, but we need to keep Novell around until we can get some of the dependent systems off Novell and onto AD. Since we've moved all file servers off eDirectory, we're looking to remove the Novell client sign-in from all the desktops, but then we have a new problem: how will users know that their passwords have expired? It's suggested that we could use NAM, but I don't know if NAM has any password management tools. So the question to the group is: is there a way to have NAM notify users that their password has expired? And is there a self-service password management tool in NAM?

Not sure how NAM would resolve this for you but you can use SSPR though I don't think has a notification option for you. If you have IDM though you
can use the password expiration driver so users get notifications and then use SSPR as the tool for users to update their passwords.

Hi,

there is a possibility to have password notification in SSPR but you need to have a external (postgre) database if I recall right
But I think that users need to change there passwords in SSPR first to get this to work, there is no password filter like in IDM
