Does AccuRev 5.7 run on RHEL8/Centos8
We are getting ready to upgrade from AccuRev 5.7 to 7.4. With the DB change we need to install 5.7 on our new server, then install 7.4 on top of it. We are trying to determine whether to use Centos 7 or 8. This will be answered for us if AccuRev 5.7 does not run on Centos 8. I have not been able to find anything to answer...
AccuRev 5.7 was not tested on CentOS 7 or CentOS8 as these OS versions were not available when AccuRev 5.7 was released. Our official AccuRev/OS support matrix is at: https://supportline.microfocus.com/supportresources/AccurevSupportMatrix.aspx
My general experience with AccuRev running on Linux is that it just works. That is not an official statement of supporting any Linux version, but just a fact I've run many different AccuRev server/client versions on different (not supported Linux versions) and I've not found a configuration that hasn't worked.
As you're planning on upgrading from AccuRev 5.7 to 7.4, and both CentOS 7 and CentOS 8 are supported under AccuRev 7.4, please see the AccuRev Installation and Release Notes - Version 7.4 at : https://www.microfocus.com/documentation/accurev/74/AccuRev_Install_Release_Notes.pdf and the "System Requirements" section for supported OS, you should be find running 5.7 prior to upgrading to 7.4.
Please see the AccuRev 5.7 Administrator's Guide https://www.microfocus.com/documentation/_images/pdf.png and the section 7. Moving the AccuRev Server and Repository to Another Machine. Due pay close attention to "On the Destination Machine" step 4 and do NOT copy over the /storage/db.
