Overview of Windows MFA options

Folks,

Looking at the documentation site there are three items that look interesting for a potential client use case:

- Desktop OTP Tool Installation Guide [View as HTML] [View as PDF] 02/28/2019
- Windows Client Installation Guide [View as HTML] [View as PDF] 02/28/2019
- Windows Authentication Agent Installation Guide [View as HTML] [View as PDF] 02/28/2019

The problem is that none of the documentation of these modules explain what they actually are, how they work or what they are supposed to do. They explain how to install them, but I can't find anything that explains why or which I want to use.

My working assumptions is that Desktop OTP is OTP only, that the Windows Client supports a number of different methods, and perhaps the Windows Authentication Agent is built on the password filter interface in the domain controller, but I have just taken that out of the space between Saturn and Neptune. Can anyone provide a definitive answer?

Thanks
Rob
