Team's velcocity in recent sprints is empty at the beginning of a release?

On the Teams configuration page, there is a graph which shows the "Team's Velocity in Recent sprints".

It looks like this is empty when starting a new release. Is this correct?

If yes, shouldn't it show velocity in recent sprints even if recent sprints are in an earlier release?

Thanks

Re: Team's velcocity in recent sprints is empty at the beginning of a release?

Hi Lou,

This is the correct behavior.

As the team leaves only within the release, than the velocity also is in the scope of the release and when moving to a new release the velocity is not carried.

We are reviewing this functionality and considering changing that behavior.
