Trace From and Trace To Documentation?

I'm getting many questions from my users about the exact definitions of Trace From and Trace To.  I was looking in the documentation but I could not find anything - is it documented anywhere?

A 'Trace From' link indicates a user story that impacts the selected user story. This is represented in the diagram by an incoming arrow.

A 'Trace To' link indicates a user story that is impacted by the selected user story. This is represented in the diagram by an outgoing arrow.

 

I will add this information to the documentation in an upcoming update.

I say replace 'trace to' and 'trace from' to "impacts" and "impacted by".. or if it is the other way around.. 🙂

 

You never learn which is which!
