Today we’re proud to announce the immediate, world-wide availability of StormRunner Functional (SRF) 1.60. This release features capabilities for managing tenants and users, new validation capabilities, and the ability to automate exploratory test sessions.
With Applitools integration for LeanFT and Selenium, testers can now add visual validations to automated tests. Using Applitools AI-powered image comparison technology that emulates the human eye, a test can immediately check for layout issues, page validations, and process dynamic pages – all tasks that are challenging for traditional test automation. After linking your SRF and Applitools accounts, users can add visual validations during script recording, add Applitools to existing tests, and view results in SRF run reports.
You told us that you wanted a better way to manage across multiple projects and with SRF 1.60 we’ve delivered. With SRF’s new workspaces capabilities an SRF Admins partition and regulate usage of a tenant to support multiple teams. While intuitive to use, SRF’s workspace functionality is powerful enough to support teams both big and small, from our largest customers with testing centers of excellence needing to validate the next version of an enterprise app to smaller teams that simply want to reduce visual clutter for their users.
Automating Exploratory Test Sessions
Sometimes, an exploratory test session in SRF is a particularly good candidate for reuse through automation. Now users can simply click the newly-added AUTOMATE button in the exploratory session results page to have SRF create an automated script.
While we’ve covered many of the biggest additions and changes above, SRF 1.60 is full of optimization and usability updates as well.
