Cluster drives diskspace monitoring

Hi,

What's the best approach to monitor for diskspace on cluster drives?
I've looked it up and it seems that since NT MO version 7.7.62 it should
be found automatically, but for me the NT_Diskspace jobs only see the C
and D drives.
NT_MO is 7.7.69
MSCS_MO is 7.2.48

I also tried with the discovery_cluster job, but that didn't change
anything either.

So besides the 2 local drives, I'd like to monitor the diskspace on the
F,O,Q,K drives as well.

Re: Cluster drives diskspace monitoring

You need to run the Discovery_Cluster KS against the servers in the
cluster, then run the Discovery_NT KS against the virtual servers that
are discovered.

Re: Cluster drives diskspace monitoring

Hi,

Thanks for the tip - but I already tried that and to no avail...
Obviously it was my own fault, seeing I didn't include the fact that I
already did this.

Re: Cluster drives diskspace monitoring

To monitor clustered disks with current WinOS modules, you must perform
a few steps. First, you must run Discovery_Cluster against the cluster
node that owns the cluster's virtual server. This will discover the
cluster virtual server and specific application virtual servers
(Exchange and Microsoft SQL) and create new server level objects for the
virtual servers. Next, on the new server level object for the cluster
virtual server you must run Discovery_NT. This will discover only the
clustered disks. You can then deploy the NT_DiskSpace job to the new
server level object for the cluster virtual server where you have
discovered the clustered disks. NT_DiskSpace will recognize that it was
dropped on a cluster object and monitor the cluster disks.

If you are having any issues with these steps please contact Technical
Support for more assistance.

Thanks,
Kevin
