Port 9998 in use by another process.

Greetings All,
I have a weird problem where when we try to install a new agent on an Exchange 2012 box it states that port 9998 is already in use but when I do a netstat -a -n -o I do not see the port listed. Is there I am missing by chance? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you made sure there are no issues with RPC on that machine?

If this is still an issue, please perform the following:

1. Stop netiqmc service
2. Go to AM install bin folder from cmd
3. Run netiqmc.exe -c > C:\agent.log (You can mention any other drive
and log file name)
4. Wait for a couple of minutes and look for the following lines:

NQRpcDESrvInitEx: MaxCalls=1234
NQRpcDESrvInitEx: QueueLength=64
Listening for remote procedure calls...
MC listening on port 9998

If you can, send me the agent.log file.
