Switching QDB from Windows only to both Unix and Windows.

Greetings All,
I apologize if this is a repeat post but I could not find anything on this topic. I originally built out a QDB to only house Windows Servers but have since now have a requirement for it to also Unix/Linux servers. Is there a way to do this with out rebuilding the QDB? Hope this question makes sense. Many thanks in advance for your help.

You shouldn't have to rebuild the QDB. To configure/change the security
level for UNIX agents you can use the NQKeyGenUnix.exe utility.
Additional information about this utility can be found in the
Administrator Guide for AppManager -
https://www.netiq.com/documentation/appmanager-9/administratorguide/data/admin_utilities_keygenunix.html.

Re: Switching QDB from Windows only to both Unix and Windows

We are not changing the security at all, when I built the QDB it asked at one step of the installation do you want to have Windows, Unix, or both in this QDB. I selected Windows only. Now that QDB needs to house Unix agents. Is there something I need to change for this to work?

That is actually what's happening in that step during
setup/installation of the QDB. In the installation guide
(https://www.netiq.com/documentation/appmanager-9/installationguide/data
/b10rrbon.html) look at step 6-9.

6. Select to configure security for Windows agents only, UNIX agents
only, or both and click Next.

NetIQ Corporation recommends initially configuring all Windows agents
and all UNIX agents...

Other than this there is no difference...nor modifications needed.

My apologize for misunderstanding your post. Do you need to load that utility separately? I can't seem to find it.

The utility can be located on a Management Server in the
NetIQ\AppManager\bin directory.
