update KS schedule

Hello,

we are searching for a solution to set the schedule of a single KS
triggered by a script. We like to set up an aegis-process with this.
The elements in the acitvity library (create job) are not realy suitable
for our problem. There you can only set "run once" or "run x number of
times" or "KS default values". We like to schedule a ks at specific days
and times.

Has anyone a solution or idea for this problem?

Thanks,
Tobi

Re: update KS schedule

Whilst it is possible to do this - the underlying component used in the
scripts you mention is NetIQOLE which can handle all scheduling options
- to do this with a script is extremely complex. It is something better
done with a UI which is why there are few examples for changing or
setting schedules.

If you talk to our Professional Services organisation then we should be
able to help - it might be that you don;t need all the possible options,
just something like "start now, run every X minutes" ....

Re: update KS schedule

Hi Andy,

we like to set the maintenance mode with that, and for that we are
searching for a solution to schedule the KS SchedMaint at a specific day
and time.
Maybee you have some customer who needed it to and had build something
to achieve that.
Our first idea was to set that via the Aegis activity "create job" but
there you can only schedule the job like i describe in my initial post.
Do you have some other ideas how can i achieve that?

Tobi

Re: update KS schedule

There is a script (posted on the old forum - we can rep[ost it here)
that allows you to basically do ad hoc maintenance (turn it on and then
turn it off). That may be all you need. But I am attaching an EXAMPLE
script that can submit AMAdmin_SchedMaint at a date/time you want.
Because dealing with dates and schedules is extremely complicated, it
only allows you to set some of the scheduling options. So you can pick a
start date and time, and optionally an end date and time and KS category
(the KS lets you "sleep" all or the specified list).

Also you can provide a comma separated list of agents for the job to be
sent to.

Read the comments at the beginning for details on how to run it - and
remember this is NOT a tested KS, so use in a lab. It is just there as
an example of what you can do.
