Recently, we released Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) 14.50. In this version, we gave a lot of attention to UFT’s mobile testing capabilities, which is loaded up with a number of key features and enhancements outlined below.
Simulate the facial recognition process in mobile scripts on iOS devices. This gives you intelligent-like imitation of biometric identification and verification during test replays.
For more details, see simulate authentication.
New methods are available for simulating barcode or QR code recognition. These extended, intelligent-like capabilities give you additional support for:
- Simulating a barcode using an image captured on the device's camera
- Simulating a barcode using its text and format, such as a URL contained in the barcode (iOS only)
The Workspace feature in Micro Focus Mobile Center lets you create and manage multiple, separated projects or tenants on a single Mobile Center server. From there, you can then assign and manage users, apps, and mobile devices per project.
UFT 14.50 now allows you to simply select your Mobile Center workspace in the UFT Options dialog when connecting to Mobile Center.
Android's RecyclerView displays a scrolling list of elements based on large data sets or data that frequently changes. The control for RecyclerView is now identified as a MobileList test object in UFT 14.50.
Official support for mobile parallel execution
In our previous release of UFT 14.03, we introduced parallel execution for mobile testing in “tech preview” mode. Parallel execution for mobile testing is now fully supported in this version.
While this blog covers a subset of our functionality, more details about this release and other new features will be covered in upcoming blogs.
