We recently released version 14.03 of Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) and Lean Functional Testing (LeanFT) 14.03. In this version, UFT’s automated testing suite and LeanFT’s continuous testing suite expand their rich capabilities further with an array of new technologiesall designed to support today’s ultra-agile testing demands. For the purpose of this blog, we will shed some light on a number of these new technologies.UFT Logo.png

Unified Functional Testing (UFT)

UFT has long provided an unparalleled breadth of 40+ supported technologies. With version 14.03, UFT’s tool belt has grown even larger with the introduction of several technologies for testing embedded frameworks, headless browsers, and UI grids. These capabilities include:

  • React and NW.js (node-webkit) for testing Web apps and embedded frameworks
  • Headless Chrome for rapid, UI-less browser testing
  • Angular UI Grid support using our new WebUIGrid test object, as well as other specific methods available under this new control’s umbrella
  • Object Spy support for CEF, Electron, and NW.js
  • Java 9 compatibility (tech preview)
  • Secured JMS for Tibco EMS SSL connections
  • New versions of web browsers, Flex, Qt, and much more…

Lean Functional Testing (LeanFT)

As with previous versions, LeanFT extends its technology support which allows its users to create and run functional tests on new application technologies, testing frameworks, and more. In version 14.03, LeanFT introduces support for:

  • JUnit’s next generation of JUnit 5
  • Microsoft Edge support for “LeanFT for Selenium”
  • Automating SAPUI 5 applications on Mac
  • Java 9 compatibility
