We’re pleased to announce the release of Micro Focus LeanFT 14.53!
This version is fully packed with new features and enhancements, all designed to support the trend of shift-left functional testing. This blog will briefly touch on LeanFT's new capabilities.
What’s new in LeanFT 14.53
LeanFT 14.53 is focused on strengthening our capabilities for the DevTester and their ability to start testing as soon as possible.
Shift Left with Service Virtualization (SV)
Service Virtualization was introduced with LeanFT 14.52 as a Tech Preview. With LeanFT 14.53, SV is now out of Tech Preview and is available as core feature of the product. The functionality for creating virtualized backend services is still as simple as recording a test-case.
Web applications typically consist of HTML-based frontend and backend services, which provide particular functionality like credit-card processing or user-management. The frontend heavily depends on those backend services, but if the backend is down or under development, it is hard or even impossible to continue testing. With the embedded Service Virtualization (SV) capabilities of LeanFT, the backend services are no longer a bottleneck for DevTesters. Instead, simply simulate key services and stop waiting for the backend to be ready – it’s as simple as recording a test case. For additional information, please see the LeanFT – Service Virtualization video.
Better BDD with Support for Cucumber 4
LeanFT takes the lead in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) with support for Cucumber 4. Empower all your stakeholders, including non-technical users, to create Shift Left testing frameworks with LeanFT. Also, with LeanFT 14.53 you are now able to execute Cucumber scripts from ALM.
