Silk Test is a fast, reliable, and efficient test automation solution for development, quality, and business teams who need to deliver software faster. Silk Test allows you to create cross-browser scripts that run on multiple desktop and mobile browsers without any modifications, which is key to reduce the effort for creating and maintaining scripts. As product software-delivery cycles increase in pace, quality tends to suffer with the introduction of defects and bugs – Silk Test helps find those bugs earlier in the life-cycle.
Silk Test introduces significant enhancements with version 20.5. Here's an overview of the feature highlights:
Eliminate Bottlenecks and Save Time and Costs with Service Virtualization for Mobile Devices
With version 20.0, Service Virtualization (SV) has been embedded as a core feature of Silk Test. Now, with Silk Test 20.5, we have pushed the SV feature to the next level by supporting the mobile use-case as well.
Here’s how the newly embedded SV for mobile devices works in Silk Test: Mobile applications typically consist of two parts: 1) a native or HTML-based front-end, and 2) back-end services, which can be remote Bluetooth or NFC devices, such as GPS watches or a smart door locking mechanism. But since the front-end heavily depends on those remote devices, if the remote device is not accessible or is under development, it can be difficult—if not impossible—to continue testing the front-end.
So rather than paying for expensive devices or sustaining delays, with the newly embedded SV capabilities of Silk Test 20.5, remote devices are no longer a bottleneck for developers and testers. Now, both developers and testers can simply simulate these key services and remote devices and avoid waiting for the services and remote devices to be ready. This can result in significant savings in both time and costs. Also, since using SV with Silk Test is as simple as recording a test case, user adoption most likely increases as well.
Enhance Security with Java-based Encryption
According to the World Quality Report, enhancing security is one of the top priorities of CIOs and senior technology professionals. With Silk Test 20.5, you can now use Java-based encryption to highly secure the encryption of data within any Silk Test script. Easily configure which algorithm should be used for encryption and decryption. Enhance your security with Java-based encryption.
Gain Efficiencies with an Enhanced LocatorSpy: Simply validate the recorded or manually edited locator by pressing Enter to verify if objects can be found correctly. The enhanced LocatorSpy can save you a lot of time.
