We’re pleased to announce the release of Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) 14.51!

This version unveils a number of new features and enhancements, all designed to optimize your maintenance and test execution time. Here, we will touch briefly on the array of UFT’s new capabilities and technologies. More details about this release and other new features will be covered in upcoming blogs. Stay tuned!

What’s new

Micro Focus strives to provide faster automation adoption that fits your testing teams different personas and skills. UFT 14.51 continues to focus in this arena with its emphasis on intelligent-like behavior for test maintenance, support for Docker Containers, and breadth of enhancements for Robotic Process Automation (RPA), web, mobile, usability, and much more.

To summarize, this release includes:

Scalable test execution

Providing the versatility to speed up test execution time with:

  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) batch execution from the command line
  • Docker Container support for running web and mobile tests
  • Parallel testing support for Edge, Headless Chrome, and Safari on Mac
  • Parallel testing in isolated mode

Optimized test maintenance

Improve your test maintenance capabilities with intelligent-like enhancements that include:

  • Identifying Smart Identification details in run results
  • Updating test object values detected by Smart Identification
  • Accessing your object repository from the Editor or Keyword View
  • Configuring failure scenarios in Jenkins for test runs
  • Loading run results when builds in Jenkins fail
  • Providing statistics about your testing usage and habits (optional)

Usability & TTV

Improving today’s extensive testing demands with the introduction of:

  • Auto-exporting HTML run results to PDF
  • Git support for creating, switching, and merging branches
  • Isolated jQuery libraries for Web Extensibility
  • Scripting methods for connecting to Mobile Center and releasing mobile devices
