Re: Export dashboard or portlet

I did try to implement a prototype of exporting Dashboard portlets to PPTX a couple of years ago. The problem of this approach is that PPM Portlets are HTML code - with a lot of Javascript when charts are involved - and I haven't found a way to output arbitrary HTML in a Powerpoint Slide.

This means that for simple list portlets we could eventually create a Table in the slides and fill it with PPM data, but there would be no guarantee that the data would scale gracefully in the layout of a slide - and any HTML in the list cells would not be rendered, causing a lot of issues for customers where HTML-in-List-Portlets is used extensively.
Moreover, for all "fancy" charts with charts, the only option would be to take a snapshot of the portlet as a picture and copy it in the slides - which means the slides contents would not be editable, which would just be useless.
If you want to share portlets contents by email and that you won't be able to edit contents, better export portlets to PDF, which is already available.

If you want to export to PPTX in order to show the portlets contents to an audience in a review meeting, and that for some reason you don't want to show the live portlets in the PPM Dashboard layout, then maybe you could look at PPM Mobile Dashboard introduced in PPM 9.55, and show up to the review meeting with an iPad that you would share on the projector to show the portlets live.

If you think that Dashboard exports to PPTX as static images would still be valuable, then feel free to submit it as an Idea in PPM Idea Exchange: https://community.microfocus.com/t5/PPM-Idea-Exchange/idb-p/PPM_Ideas
