This here does not help: https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/doc/KM03302110

Re: APM Local Client SSL Support

Hi Harald

..
Can APM LocalClient use SSL/https with APM 9.50?
..
yes, at least for the customers we worked with, KM03302110 resolved the issue when using SSL / HTTPS.

This statement
..
we have configured APM 9.50 to use SSL/https. Now the APM Client does not connect anymore.
..
of course doesn't carry enough information, so perhaps you can share some more details?
When do you see an issue?
Does the client itself start without problems?
What exactly is the message when you try to connect?

Do you find anything useful in the logs or in the command window which opens when you execute local_client-start.bat?

What exact command do you use within local_client-start.bat?

And finally, what version of the APM Local Client do you use?
The latest and greatest one from patch BAC_00913?

Greetings
Siggi

Re: APM Local Client SSL Support

@Siggi Gladitsch

APM and https works using IE but APM Local Client displays:  "The site cannot be reached"

regarding: KM03302110: What I can see is that it only adds a http proxy and opens a remote debug port?
"java\bin\java.exe" -agentlib:jdwp=transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=n,address=5005 -Dhttp.proxyHost=11.22.33.44 -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -jar apm_local_client_launcher.jar
What is proxy 11.22.33.44? How can this fix the issue?

Re: APM Local Client SSL Support

Local clients have diverse relationships with SSL. If I remember correctly the APM local client needs you to add the APM certificate to the trusted domain on local host. If that woudn't work, please check if there is a keytool.exe in the local client's files. You might need to import the APM Certificate to the cacerts keystore Also the Java security might need to be updated with the APM HTTPS address but this one is a long shot.
