BAC - BPM data collector changing IP address

  • In BAC whenever a BPM data collector changed IP address, this change was reflected immediately in BAC with no intervention from our side. On BSM this is not happening: the old IP will be displayed, and HP support indicated us to updated the IPs manually through a DB query. Can this be fixed so that any IP change is reflected automatically on BSM?

Hi,

 

Starting with at least BSM 9.22, and it may be with any 9.2x version, there is a setting that controls this.

 

Go to Admin->EUM->Settings->BPM Default Settings.

 

Under Default Agent Settings there is a checkbox "Update agents IP address".

 

Check this and your BPMs should start to update their IPs automatically.

 

Below is a snapshot from a 9.24 instance.

Eric thanks a lot for your answer, which was exactly what we were looking for.

 

One questions more,

 

Would it be necessary to reset the gateway servers after select this checkbox?

If the check box is selected, the update is made when the data collector next registers itself in BSM,
