(BSM) Support Tip: RUM 9.40 - Unable to use Probe Traffic Discovery

When starting the Traffic Discovery on the probe via the RUM Engine Web Console it looks like the Discovery is running, but no data is showing up.
When clicking on "Stop Discovery", the warning "Are you sure you want to stop the Discovery Process" shows up,
but the click on the "OK" button is not recognized.

This happens with Internet Explorer 11 locally on the RUM Engine machine (Windows 2012 R2), same when using Compability Mode
same with Mozilla Firefox, or remotely on a different system, it's always the same issue.

The reason for that is a change in the RUM probe 9.40.
Prior to 9.40 the flag check_uptodate_config was set to false,
with RUM 9.40, the default has been changed to true for internal reasons,
what however also influences tha ability to discover traffic.

To enable Probe Traffic Discovery,
- stop the RUM probe
- edit the file <RUM Probe>\etc\rum_probe\rpsecurity.conf
in the section webconsole add
check_uptodate_config false

afterwards it should look like this snippet:

[webconsole]
restrict_webconsole TRUE|false
restrict_webconsole true
listener_port <PORT=2020>
listener_port_range <PORTRANGE=2020-2030>
blacklisted_listener_ports <PORTS=2020,2021,2025>
ip_allow <IPRANGE>
always_allow_localhost TRUE|false
use_ssl true|FALSE
use_ssl true
check_uptodate_config false
..

- save the file
- start the probe

Greetings
Siggi
