[BSM] no data from BPM probes

Hello,

We have a system with 3 machines:  a BSM and two probes.

Last month we have found a BPM machine disconnected from BSM.
We have found that the problem was caused by the disk of the BSM which was completely full.
After freeing some memory the BPM has started working again, was correctly detected by the BSM but has stopped showing data inside the reports. The other probe instead keeps saying "no data".

Have you an idea or a clue of what's happening?

Why I cannot see data from the probes?
Why a probe says "no data" while the other doesn't say anything?

More info:

both probes and BPM have been restarted
the probes are correctly pinged from BSM

from the BPM machines we can reach the web interface of the BSM machine
some scripts are correctly working and some other need to be rewritten but the BSM keeps saying "no data" and gives no info on errors or on data.

Re: [BSM] no data from BPM probes

Hi,

Check once again what you given in the BPM admin is correct like host name, BSM FQDN, credentials.

Is BSM able to ping BPM machine, you can see in BSM->admin-> End User Managment-> Setting

Your BPM location name shold be find here with when it is last pinged.

Regards

Deepak

Re: [BSM] no data from BPM probes

Hi,

The connection parameters are right and

BSM->admin-> End User Managment-> Setting

shows that pinging is good for both probes (last ping is always recent in the order of the minutes).

Re: [BSM] no data from BPM probes

Hi Chris,

Is Service Health working (e.g. 360 degree view - are KPIs showing results)?  Service Health looks at data on the Sonic Bus, but EUM Reports use data in the profile database(s).

Check the DB Loader logs to see if there are any errors loading the BPM samples into the database.  Also, check the persistency folder on your Gateway - ...HPBSM\.persist_dir\db_loader\main\current\ - do you have lots of files here?  That could indicate a problem loading the data.

Also, check the Partition Manager logs.  DB Loader will not find a correct partition to insert the recent data if partitioning manager is not able to create new partitions.

Regards,

Tim
