Priamry and Secondary DPS are running 90% plus Virtual Memory

Hi,

Both Priamry and Secondary DPS are running 90% plus Virtual Memory, need help to resolve this issue before the box falls over.

Servers are windows Server 2003, running BAC 8.07,

Process Using Mem are

mecury_cmdb.exe = 1,262,044K, 118 Threads

mecury_online_engine.exe = 970,722K

MecuryAS.exe = 704,020K

mecury_mam.exe = 632,316K

mecury_offline_eninge = 592,212K

thre rest are below 200,00K

I have checked our server and it is strange as, it is saying that we are using 17.8 GB of RAM, but in the process lists looks like it only calculates to 7-8GB.

I know services could be using these process and may need to be stopped do you have any ways to figure out if there is a hung process. Or memory leak ?

And would this be a BAC issue or a O/S Issue ?

regards,

Re: Priamry and Secondary DPS are running 90% plus Virtual Memory

Hello,

It is difficult to say there may be a BSM issue with the information provided.  There are some more comprehensive memory analysis utilities available for Windows Server 2003 which may help to identify the discrepancy you are seeing such as:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/ff700229

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd535533

Please be mindful of any other applications or anti-virus running on the DPS servers as this can contribute.

If OS becomes less likely to be the culprit, please open a service request ticket at http://support.openview.hp.com/ as this issue would likely need deeper investigation with large log files to check.

Thanks,

Brian Jessen
