is there any plan to implement a new feature in BSM that would alert if a BPM is DOWN?

Currently, when an Agent server data collector goes down or the service is not up, the data will stop coming through and the only way to find out is by going to the reports and check for data, the next step is to ask app server owners to restart the service, the question is: is there any plan to implement a feature in BSM that would alert you that the service for the server data collector is down?

Hi Christopher,

 

You can use Sitescope "service monitor" for monitor and alert when the services are down. The Service monitor verifies that specific services or processes are listed as running, and optionally. it can also check to see how much CPU and memory (Page File Bytes) a service or process is using. If a service or process that should be running does not show up or if it is using too much memory, SiteScope can either alert you to the problem so that you can address it yourself, or
it can run a script to automatically restart the service or process to help minimize the effect on other operations and downtime.

BSM SystemHealth can help you here, as it monitors the BPM availability,

 

you also can create a CI Status Alert on the Business Application CI to alert when

State value was changed from "Any Status" to "No Data"

With this you will receive an alert whenever the BA stops receiving data samples, covering basically all the way from BPM, the system BPM runs on, the network, the BSM web server, WDE, Sonic bus.
