Is it only version 7.1 that is supported or is it 7.1 and up?

We are currently running versoin 7,3 and 7,4 in our environment.

Bedst regards

Per Bejder

Currently the support is only for 7.1.

Will v8.0 be supported shortly?

Yes, version 8.0 is on the roadmap; support should be available mid-year.

I have a customer who is requesting support with v.8.0 as well, do we have a tentative date for it's release other than mid-year?

Support for version 8.2 is currently under development, with a tentative release date of 6/30/16.

Are they jumping to 8.2? Is 8.0 supported now???

The new support is for version 8.2, but 8.0 should also be supported.  If you should encounter any problems with 8.0 after upgrading to the next connector release, please file a ticket with Support.  Thanks.

The connector configuration document doesn't mention how to use a connector appliance.  I'm wondering if it would already be handled by the default Syslog Container, if we pointed the Cisco WLAN Controller to the connector appliance, or if there's anything else that's needed.

Yes, you should just be able to point it at your existing Syslog connector assuming there is capacity or a new Syslog Daemon connector on a different port
