ArcMC software installation issue

I encounter an error "No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH environment variable. You must install a VM prior to running this program." when I run the bin installer.

Anyone know what issue and the solution?

Is this the ArcMC Agent? If so, see the following from the admin guide. You need to point it to the JRE:

To manually install the ArcSight Management Center Agent:

1. In the directory to where you transferred the installer, run these 2 commands:

l chmod +x ArcSight-ArcMCAgent-2.6.0.<agent_installer_build_number>.0.bin

l ./ArcSight-ArcMCAgent-2.6.0.<agent_installer_build_number>.0.bin LAX_VM<install_dir>/current/local/jre/bin/java
where <agent_installer_build_number>is the build number of the latest installer and <install_dir> is the installation directory of the software product.

Good advice, looks like ArcMC agent error when not specifying "java" path but from description it is not possible to confirm 🙂

Also make sure that your /tmp partition has "exec" permission, (the .bin self expands installation files into a temporary working directory in the /tmp partition and then executes java..)

i.e.

mount -o remount, exec /tmp
