ArcSight Command Center

We have ArcSight Express 4.0 with ESM version 6.1.0.1389.0. How can I enable ArcSight Command Center into it? Is it a replacement for ArcSight management Console, which is generally accessible from https://<AE IP address/hostname>:8443.

Sorry, dont quite understand the question - Express was the first version that introduced the web interface to provide access to some management functions, such as archiving and basic setup / configuration. This later was provided in ESM as standard and called the ACC or ArcSight Command Center.

What I would strongly recommend is that you upgrade to ESM Express 6.9.1 (upgrade path is available and if you are in support and maintenance, its free of charge) and get to the latest aligned version. That means you get all of the full functionality of ACC and you still have the Express version.

While this is not a trivial upgrade, since it needs some upgrades to OS's, with a little planning, its not that hard. I would absolutely get off Express 4.0 since its old and I suspect on an old appliance that will be end of life'd soon.

Thanks Sir for your response. Actually, I have no idea about the ACC. In our infrastructure, I have worked with ArcSight WebConsole & ArcSight Management Console. This Command Center (ACC) sounds new to me. So just wanted to know, whether this feature is there in our setup.

As per ACC document, the command center interface is accessible from: https://<IP address of AE>:8443. But we use the same url to access our ArcSight Management console not ACC. So its very confusing.

Manish,

As Paul mentions you will need to upgrade to the latest SW version (6.9.1) to get the ArcSight command center. You will find instructions on how to use it in the ArcSight command center manual. Do note that some Express models which are towards then end of their life are not upgradable. Those are the AE-74xx (gen7) models.

Hi Manish,

Please keep in mind that on 6.9.1 ArcSight Command Center Replaces ArcSight Web.

ArcSight Web is replaced by the ArcSight Command Center (ACC) . The ACC provides dashboards, several kinds of searches, reports, case management, notifications, and administrative functions for managing content, users, connectors, storage, archives, search filters, saved searches, and peer configuration. See the HP ArcSight ESM Command Center User's Guide for details.

To access the ACC you need to go to https://yourservername:8443 the old https://yourservername:9443/ is not available any more on 6.9.1.

As it is mentioned on the ESM support matrix:

- ArcSight Command Center (ESM 6.5c and later)

‐ ArcSight Web ( ESM 6.8c and earlier)

On your previous version of AE 4.0 that has ESM 6.1 you use to have both Command center and Arcsight web.  This is not the same for AE 6.9 or  6.9.1

I hope this clarify your question.

Hello All,

I have same confusion here. We are having AE 4.0, ESM is 6.1 and we use both Management and web console.

Management console: https://yourservername:8443

Web Console: https://yourservername:9443

As you mentioned, in ESM 6.9 and earlier, web console will be replaced by ACC.

What is the difference e between ACC and Management console. I believe ACC will be having more features than Mgnt console. I am I correct?.

Thanks,

Dear Walter,

Are you referring the management console as ArcSight Command Center in AE4.0 with ESM6.1. As per your post:

"To access the ACC you need to go to https://yourservername:8443". Actually we access the management console from same link, but never come across this ArcSight Command center.

However I am clear with the ArcSight web console and its unavailability from AE 6.9. The only confusion is between Management Console & ACC.
