Re: Connector 32 bit or 64 bit

Hello,

1) Check the name of installation files:
a) 64bit examples:
ArcSight-7.7.0.8036.0-Connector-Linux64.bin
ArcSight-7.7.0.8036.0-Connector-Win64.exe

b) 32bit examples:
ArcSight-7.7.0.8036.0-Connector-Linux.bin
ArcSight-7.7.0.8036.0-Connector-Win.exe

2) Open agent.out.wrapper.log (you might need to check all of them or just stop/start SmartConnector) and you will have this lines (example for 64bit, notice "Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit"):
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2017/12/13 18:51:47 | ====> Starting ArcSight SmartAgent
.....few lines in between
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2017/12/13 18:51:48 | [Wed Dec 13 18:51:48 CET 2017] [INFO ] JVM name: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM

3) Next possibility is to go to following path (for example run the following command example):
a) path example:
<connector_home>/current/current/jre/bin/java -d32
<connector_home>/current/current/jre/bin/java -d64

b) Output when I run the -d32 on my 64bit SmartConector (Linux):
[root@connector bin]# /opt/Syslog_514/current/jre/bin/java -d32
Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
Please install the desired version.

4) You cannot upgrade 32bit with 64bit version (opposite also).

Regards,

Marijo

Re: Connector 32 bit or 64 bit

Hello, Is there some smart way how to check architecutre of all connectors on one place from  Arcsigth Comand Center or ArcMC? I coulnd find such info in Report -> ArcSight Administration -> Connectors -> System Health ://

We have lot of connectors in very complicated environment... I was thinking about using rest api, but maybe there is simplier way?

Re: Connector 32 bit or 64 bit

my two crowns...

<ConnectorHome>/current/jre/bin/java -version

The 32bit doesn't mention anything about the architecture while 64bit is.

Re: Connector 32 bit or 64 bit

Or you can check what library java is linked against:

ldd /opt/arcsight/connectors/*/current/jre/bin/java | grep ld-linux

Or me it is linked to a 64b glibc:

/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2

So this is a 64b connector.
