Console error

Could someone please let me know what the following console error means.

<CODE MAP: 'A2195'>

<ArcSight Version:>

This appears in the console error log following an attempt to launch.

- when launched the console logon screen flashes briefly and closes completely.  No process remains running.

- Uninstalled and reinstalled with same results

- happens only with 6.91 console, 6.5 runs fine on same machine

- worked previously

Re: Console error

The message that you provided is a simple version message and nothing more. It is a normal thing and I would expect to see this in the logs as it is loading up. So unfortunately this doesn't show anything.

However, go to where you have the console installed and check in the current/logs folder. You should a whole bunch of logs in there so take a look for console.log and any console.err.<date>.log files. They should detail a lot more around what has happened and what is happening.

There was a switch in the underlying JVM from 6.5 to 6.9.1 - fixed a bunch of vulnerabilities that were there. It could be related to this and I would focus on what might be preventing it from loading, stopping it from running or otherwise crashing out the JVM itself. Also, go to the bin folder for the console and try running the .bat file directly. Use the Console.bat file (the other arcsight.bat is the JVM executable, don't run it directly). From there you should see any runtime load errors or problems.
