Is odbc the only option while integrating SEPM with embedded database?

Hello,

We have several Symantec endpoint Protection Manager that use Symantec embedded database. We are trying to integrate all of them from one connector machine(using smart connector for Symantec endpoint Protection DB). I see in the connector guide that, only ODBC connection is supported for Sybase Embedded datbase. We have ver 12.1.6 which uses SQL anywhere 16. Is ODBC still our only option to integrate these? Can we use the sybase JDBC driver?
