Managed node for metric type in ArcMC rule

Selected a Rule in ArcMC and received this warning:

Monitoring Rules - There is no managed node for this Metric Type! Please go to Node Management and add some.

What does this mean and can we assign rules to specific nodes?

Re: Managed node for metric type in ArcMC rule

John did you get any clarity on this? It appears that the rules fire on any relevant nodes by default, but when you edit a rule it only "looks at" nodes housed outside of the ArcMC itself. E.g. if you pick the option the select specific nodes, only those housed outside of the ArcMC host itself are available.   If you don't have any managed nodes outside of the ArcMC (e.g. on a remote host) you get the error.  Which implies you can't assign a rule to a specific node if that node is a connector on the ArcMC box (localhost).   I don't understand why these nodes are excluded.  Or if I'm just missing something obvious.

Re: Managed node for metric type in ArcMC rule

I'm seeing this in ArcMC 2.9.0. I only have Connectors on the local ArcMC software host. I did some reseach and this may have been a bug with 2.7.X that was addressed with 2.8.1.
