Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

Thank you so much for that Bobby. Gilbert, I haven't gone through the release notes to find out if this specific issue is fixed with a patch, but I'd highly recommend applying the patches that Bobby has in place (= patch 2 on ArcMC, patch 1 on Logger)

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

I just applied the patches and still get the error message below.

"Error: com.arcsight.product.arcmc.service.v1.api.AuthenticationException;

nested exception is: org.apache.avro.AvroRuntimeException:

com.arcsight.product.arcmc.service.v1.api.AuthenticationException"

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

Pretty sure this is the same issue I had recently. You need to uninstall the old ArcMC agent from Logger (opt/arcsight/arcmcagent/UninstallerData see page 29 of the admin guide) and retry.

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

Hi Gilbert,

Glad you got the problem resolved! Can you mark Mr Hope's answer as correct please? You have to click the big green "Correct Answer" star, which is in fact a button that you have to click. I've found the inconsistency between marking things correct/helpful confusing myself, and have been asking to have the forum support standardize it.

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

I also have problems adding sw logger to arcmc

It fails  with following error message during add of host ...

ArcSight Management Center failed to check if the ArcSight Management Center Agent is installed on the host FQDN.

Error:Server returned HTTP responce code: 500 for URL: https://FQDN/plattform-service/rest/PlatformService/getLicenseinformation

Agent p2 installed on logger without problem what am I missing ?

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

- Make sure the Logger certificate reflects the logger hostname (FQDN).

- Try to ping the logger from the ArcMC.

- Check your logger processes and make sure the agent is running.

Let me know if you got it to work.

Still same problem ... after checking  this ...

We get the error box at last stage ... logger is sending status 500  with the text above .

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

In that case, I would recommend you uninstall the agent on the logger. upgrade both the logger and ArcMC to the latest version, if you have not done so already and try again.

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

I've upgraded to ArcMC 2.0.2 and Logger 6.0.2 and still having the exact same problem and error message.  Page 29 of the admin guide is for uninstalling agents from software loggers, but I'm using a logger appliance.  How do I uninstall or disable the agent on a logger appliance?

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

you have to stop  the ArcMC agent on your logger from the admin menu.

Then  SSH into the logger to uninstall the agent. It should be straight forward, just follow the guideline from your ArcMC documentation.

Remember, you're ArcMC version as to be the same as the agent on the logger.

Re: Please Help with adding Logger Appliance to ArcMC 2.0

Ya, the Process Status option was not showing up on the logger.  Figured out it was because the temp license had expired.  New license installed and got it all working now.  Thanks!
