Upgrade from L7505s to L7600 ADP Logger and AE-7526 to EE7600-6000EPS Express Servers

To achieve the above we have recommended 2 x 150GB ADP Loggers (one upgrade from L7505s to L7600 and a new L7600 ADP Logger) using peering and EE-7600-6000 EPS Upgrade.

But the upgrade from the above would be just a Software upgrade and not a hardware upgrade.

Could someone help on the concern below;

They are looking at 3months online retention and 1yrs Offline Retention

1) Will this have a performance issues

2) will the old and new servers work well

3) Is there a better way for this deployment, which we have not considered

4) Support for the AE Series ends in 2019 March, will the software upgrade extend the HW support as well?

5) Best way to take this forward.

First off - the Official HPe answer here would be similar to what we got with our last Renewal --

EE7600 - @4000 EPS - not allowed - Express is for 2500 EPS only convert to full blown ESM if you have not already.

Also the hardware would need to match the specs for the GEN 9 DL380s - which is considerable - the convert from Express to ESM they may just give you the hardware -

You also need to look into your EPS as the newer Hardware is using GB/day not an EPS calculation -

if you stay on the hardware you have and just do software  - We are full appliance based shop - I would expect some resource contention and slowness.

Also no - the Software upgrade does not extend hardware support - as with the GEN 7 ConAPP  C5400's you could migrate the software to ArcMC 2.0 - 2.2 but not new vulnerability patches or OS upgrades - RHEL 5.5 for the remainder of the time its in service and penalty fee for the support if you get full replacement also.
