Zero Sum Reporting in ESM

Running reports in ESM that come out periodically (daily, etc.) I've run into a bird but can't find an answer for...

Question: How do we MAKE the reporting engine include all of the event totals in a report and include zero sums or zero values for reported items.

The reason I ask is purely selfish and built out of laziness. I don't want to have to look at two areas to review if something didn't happen during the report period.
