interset 6.1 single node install

Hi,

Trying to install the new ArcSight 2020.2 solutions using the new CDF platform. Hit a problem installing the solution Interset 6.1 single node install. Running prepare-install-single-node-host.sh is OK, after restarting we have a problem running install-single-node.sh .

In the step where Vertica in being installed we get error

>> Validating node and cluster prerequisites...

Prerequisites not fully met during local (OS) configuration for
verify-10.152.37.7.xml:
HALT (S0010): https://www.vertica.com/docs/9.2.x/HTML/index.htm#cshid=S0010
Unable to nice and un-nice processes. Check limits.

System prerequisites failed. Threshold = FAIL
Hint: Fix above failures or use --failure-threshold

Installation FAILED with errors.

/etc/security/limits.conf file gets updated with " dbadmin - nice 0 " but it looks like this setting is not honored. Was unable to find another way to force this setting and so we are unable to proceed.

Tried on CentOS 7.7 and 8.1.

Any idea ?

As per this link: https://www.vertica.com/docs/9.2.x/HTML/Content/Authoring/SupportedPlatforms/MCandServer.htm?tocpath=Vertica%209.2.x%20Supported%20Platforms%7C_____1 Vertica is not supported on 8.1

Meanwhile, are you running the installer as root user or any other user?

As root.

That is why I also tried with CentOS 7.7.

And while we are on the subject, the documentation for Arcsight 2020.2 solutions is all over the place. Very hard to find a simple place where all requirements are written.
