Anyone need to bring RAS logs into ArcSight?

I know most ArcSight customers probably use Microsoft RAS for remote access. I was wondering how other customers parse these IAS logs. We use the IASparse utility to convert the file to a more readable format, then attempt to parse it with a filereader agent. But we're having issues with the naming conventions (INyymmdd.log in daily format) & how to recognize and only parse new data.

RE: Anyone need to bring RAS logs into ArcSight?

Hi, Edit your agent.properties file and add the following lines or replace them if already there: agents[0].rotationschemeparams='IN'yyMMdd,.log agents[0].rotationscheme=Daily and change agents[0].logfilename to point only to the directory that contains the log files and not to a specific log file at that location. At midnight every day the agent should start reading the new file, if the file doesn't exist yet and error message will be written to the agent log file. I hope this helps! Regards, Rui
