How to determine amount data usage rates in Logger

I'm trying to size out a new logger and determine proper retention rates for my current Logger. Knowing the number of daily events and the daily partition size in ESM makes understanding and calculating retentions and capacity a lot easier. Considering I'm doing no aggregation to logger and the RAW events are already going there, I don't want to make the assumption that my ESM daily partition size equates to my logger daily event storage requirements.

Does anyone know a way to find these sorts of statistics?

Thanks!

Re: How to determine amount data usage rates in Logger

I was able to get a close estimate by using deviceEventClassId = "storagegroup:100".

Those events will show you how much space was used when the event was generated. You can trend these over time to see how much space you are using day to day.

Re: How to determine amount data usage rates in Logger

A while ago I noticed the ArcSight events that are used to calculate the data volume restriction values.    See here:

You may be able to tweak the query a bit to give the sort of data you need.

Good luck!
