Inherited Asset Categories

Jump to solution

A little background to preface the question... I have imported data to create several assets, and zones that they belong in.  The zones when imported due to the location they are placed in the group structure have inherited asset categories from the group they are within.

Does anyone know why the assets that are in the zones will not inherit the asset categories that the zones are in?  I would think that any category applied to a zone would filter down to the asset that is within that zone.

Ex: (Zone A) has inherited the Category (Test 1) from the above group above being assigned a Local Asset Category.  Asset (Computer 1) is within (Zone A), but does not have any Inherited Asset Categories applied.

I am running ArcSight Version 5.0.0.6450.0.

Thanks,

Jarrod
