Lea_Client.exe stop working

Hi ,

I'm trying to install the SmartConnector for CheckPoint server.
When the agent try to verify parameters the errors "Lea_Client.exe stop working" if I ignore the error and go next in the HPlogger I can see that the Agent starts and stops continuosly.

I have tryed different version of the SmartConnector.
My SmartConnector resides on a windows 2008 server 32 bit.

have you any idea?

thanks Andrea

Re: Lea_Client.exe stop working

Dear Andrea,

I do not know which connector you are using but if it is the CheckPoint OPSEC NG Official SmartConnector, I advice you to check on the following document p30. There are some troubleshooting information related to LEA. According to the document it is better to choose a Windows Machine for this connector. I do not know yet how it is working on Linux.

DOC-2419

I hope this information will help you to fix your issue.

Tell me if it still does not work.

Thanks

Kind Regards

Michael

Re: Lea_Client.exe stop working

Hi Michael ,

thanks for the answer.

I have a checkpoint Management server on linux, and the SmartConnector on a wsindows server 2008.

i'm tring to configure the "Clear Connection" the easiest way

I tried different version of SmartConnector:

- ArcSight - 7.1.1.7348.0

- ArcSight - 7.0.6.7189.0

- ArcSight - 7.1.2.7433.0

With all these the result is the same.

During the installation of SmartConnector appears a pop-up alerting you that the "lea_client.exe" stops working.

I tried to ignore this issue and after install the CheckPoint OPSEC NG as a service seams that all starts but on the smartlogger you can see only log like these:

-Agent [SMchp] type [checkpointfirewall_ad_opsec] started

- Agent [SMchp] type [checkpointfirewall_ad_opsec] shutting down

On the troubleshooting section i didn't found something related to my issue.

ideas?

regards

Andrea

Re: Lea_Client.exe stop working

Dear Andrea,

Sorry for the late answer but have you tried to install the dll files missing as you use a Windows Host for the CheckPoint SmartConnector.

I hope this information will be useful and your problem will be solved.

Could you please give me a feedback.

Thanks

Kind Regards

Re: Lea_Client.exe stop working

Hi Andrea,

You should find them on a Windows Operating System.

On my Windows7 workstation, I have found them.

After having copied them on the right place, if the connector still not found them, you may copy them directly where the lea_client.exe

If you do not find them, you may search on web be careful with malware or on the Windows CD.

Could you please tell me if your connector is working properly now.

Thanks

Regards

Michael
