WebConsole Error

Good day,

After having success in figuring out our Filestore issue, the webconsole
does not seem to work and we are getting the error below. There was no
other solution I could find on this problem in the forums so I would hope
someone could help me out.

Tried the reboot and no success. Does this having anything to do with the
rtrlet.war file. The webconsole error occurred once I had reapplied the
latest patch IR11. The manager is working perfectly now but the console is
not. Help?!

Do you have c:\ rtrlet.log, if so, can you post it or email it to

Re: WebConsole Error

I've never had much success getting the Webconsole to upgrade with other
patches. I've never bothered to figure out why either. Assuming that you
have the right version of java installed and tomcat is using the right
version, heres the workaround I use.

-stop the tomcat service
-from the webapps directory rename the directory rtrlet to rtrlet.old
-rename rtrlet.war to rtrlet.war.old
-copy the file rtrlet.war from the filestore to the webapps directory
-start tomcat
-let it rebuild the rtrlet directory and subdirectories.
-copy any custom images you were using from the rtrlet.old/branding logos
directory to the new rtrlet/branding logos directory
-logon to the webconsole
-update the logo file name if you were using custom images

Cheers

P.S. I guess I should research the issue properly sometime.

Hey Patrick,

Would the rtrlet.war that you are stating be located in the Filestore
directory under exedir/webconsoleupdater/win32/?

Just checking because they have the same file information. So I'm curious
by performing this action, what does it copying of the same file really do
, when it was there to begin with??

Thanks I shall let you know.

Re: WebConsole Error

Yes, that's the one. Sometimes the RTRLET directory isn't rebuilt
automatically by tomcat after the updates, so I manually rebuild it by
using that process.

Did you find a fix for this?

I had the same problem upgrading to IR16. I have followed the steps above but now get the following message when I try to log in to the Web Console:

The database is being upgraded.

Please try again later.

Please help.

Re: WebConsole Error

I've seen that error before. The webconsole is rebuilding itself and once it's completed, the message goes away and the webconsole works.
I delete rtrlet.war.old now or move it out of the tomcat directory altogether. There was some problems with leaving it there iirc.

I don't know if I just needed to wait or not but it is working now.

I also deleted/moved C:\Tomcat5\webapps\rtrlet (cache) which may have fixed it.
