ZAM 7.5 Install Error

Attempting a fresh install of Enterprise ZAM 7.5 install using Oracle 10g R2 database server with appropriate full Licence.
* Fresh install of W2K3 R2 server on ESX guest server, .net 2 and Oracle client 10g r2 10.02
* Oracle net service name configured using Oracle tools and test connectivity
* Run the scripts against the Oracle database as per instructions included in the Oracle_Schema_Creation_Scripts_7_5.zip - completes with no error.
* Install ZAM using the ZEN75_AssetMgmt.iso from Novell's download site.
*At the appropriate point in the install create the ODBC data source and run the reg file customized with appropriate settings.
* Run DBInit - completes with no error.
* Cancel the Database creation tool as per install instructions.
* Install copies some files for the File Store creation, then attempts to connect to the data base and fails with the following error:
"Zenworks Asset Management Setup cannot connect to the database due to an unknown DBP Exception"
* Click on OK to dismiss error message and the installer reports "File Store Initialization Failed".
* Test database connectivity using any of the available tools (command line, odbc gui, Oracle tools gui etc) and connects just fine.
* Any subsequent attempt to run the ZAM installer results in the same error.

This install has been attempted many times and it always fails at the same point with the same issue.

Reading this log it appears that the installer is now using credentials that are incorrect, yet in the previous dbinit step the credentials it uses work OK?

What am I missing?

Update:
A packet trace from the new ZAM server shows that it is trying to connect to the Oracle database with userid ncstartup. I found out that the DBA reset the password away from the default of tally. Can anyone tell me if the default password should be left as tally - is there an issue if this password has been changed to something else?

Re: ZAM 7.5 Install Error

OK This problem is now resolved.

If the NCStartup password is changed away from the default of "tally" then it will cause problems with the install. Once the DBA changed the password back the installer logged onto the database and continued without a hitch.
