HP Asset Manager 5.12 License Installation

Jump to solution
Dear Experts,

How to install the License Keys (not the License Files) in The Asset Manager.

My Temporary License in AM was expired and I got 2 new keys from Support.

How to apply those 2 keys.

Dear Atul,

AM 5.12 does nt support license key. It requires lic file, just go for an upgrade to AM 5.20 as there are many added functionality.

If not ask for a lic file from support.

Atul,

Apologies for my earlier comment. It was a bit rude. On the other hand, please make at least a rudimentary attempt to check the Asset Manager Documentation before asking a question like this. try and respect the time of people who are willing to help you.

From the AM 5.10 Administration Guide, Chapter 3:

Modifying the license using Asset Manager Application Designer
1 Start Asset Manager Application Designer
2 Connect to the database whose license you want to modify.
3 Select the Action/ Insert a license file menu.
4 Select the new license file in the dialog box that appears.

Hi Russ,

Issue is that HP support has not provided me any License File.

They Have Provided me two different Keys only , One for Cabling and one for Portfolio.

e.g Portfolio Key:XXXX XXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXXXXX"XXX"

Cable Key:XXXX XXXX xXXXXX XXXX XXXX"X"

What to do with this key. They are saying install the key manually.?????

Cable? You do not see that very often

Prior to AM5.20 they need to send you a License Key file. In AM5.20 you have to use AutoPass. So far that has also been a file for me, but perhaps there is a way to enter just a string.

Perhaps they sent you the SAID rather than teh License File?

Don't know what to tell you beyond that.
