How does AM calculate compliance of oracle database on Hyperv clusters?

Hi All,

In the SLO documentation there is some detail in describing how Oracle Database installations are calculated in the case of VMs running on ESX clusters. I haven't found the same in case of VMs running on MS Hyperv clusters.

Does anyone know how the calculation is done in this case?

Re: How does AM calculate compliance of oracle database on Hyperv clusters?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay to reply, about your question we haven't documentated this kind of calculation un our documentation, but you can check the script OOB into the table amSoftLicCounter ( Intallation/Utilization ) and scope of the installation or utilizations to be counted. you can check the the query that calculate that you need.

If you need more help please feel free to open a support case.

Best Regards!

Re: How does AM calculate compliance of oracle database on Hyperv clusters?

A while back quite a bit of the logic for the SLO Counters was moved into a Script Library.  Makes tracing it quite a bit more difficult.  Not sure what the thinking behind the change was, but it makes the SLO counters even less usefull than they were before.  With any kind of automation you need to be able to manually audit what it is doing or there is no way to really trust it.  IMHO.
