How to add/update User field under Portfolio Items menu

Jump to solution

Under Portfolio Items view, there is a field to assign a User name to an asset i.e. the main user of the portfolio item) which is linked to the User link from AMEMPLDEPT table. Currently, it assigns the user dependingon the UserName i.e. Last Name and First Name format e.g. LASTNAME,FIRSTNAME format. Need this to be changed to ADID format i.e. AD\abcd12345

Using the Designer application, select 'Employees and departments (amEmplDept)' then change "String" attribute (upper right-side of application).

NOTE:  This will impact ALL links to amEmplDept including any specific to departments.

Thanks Mark, that worked.  However, there is another problem, the customers are now able to assign the assets to the inactive/terminated users. Is there any way to populate the ACTIVE users only while updating the User field under Portfolio view?

This should be a separate thread as the previous question has now been answered, however, using the Designer application you will need to include the filter logic (ie. WhereCond) in the line where the user entry is located.  There is a corresponding "page" for the detail tab in question.  This page may need to be duplicated if not already customized.  Based on the following example you should be able to determine how you need to code the filter logic for User link...

Department|WhereCond="bDepartment = 1" Caption="\"User of the portfolio item of '\"self\"'\"" Id="1"

The filter logic is like a WHERE clause in that it tells the system what results you want it to return.
