CI getting deleted

OMI 10.62 with inbuilt RTSM CMDB

We see Node CI is getting deleted once in every 4 or 5 days.

Can I know whether re-concilation can delete CI and if yes on basis deletion can happen.

Re: CI getting deleted

Hello Ramesh.

I hope you are doing well.

Normally by default CMDB has an aging function  that delete all the CI's that are not getting updated in the last 60 days.

on the first 40 days the CI is going to be elected as a candidate for this aging process and if it does not get updated on the remaining 20 days it got deleted on this case if your CI's are getting deleted please feel free to open a case to do a deeper investigation about this issue

Best regards

Re: CI getting deleted

There are two ways to see who deleted the CI.

1. If you know a CI which was at the source of the relationship towards the deleted CI, you can check the history. In Modified By you will find the enrichment or the person deleting the relationship/CI.

2. You can go deep down in the history database tables and extract this information as well. But this requires advanced knowledge on databases.

Re: CI getting deleted

You had originally asked if reconciliation could delete a CI.  The answer is yes.  Say for example that you have some kind of multiple match that cannot be resolved by a merge.  Then we have to ignore data.  We will score the data according to an internal algorithm and then ignore the 'worst' score.  If the worst is a UCMDB CI, then it is deleted.

Hope this helps,

Re: CI getting deleted

Dears

Can you provide me an example. In our environment(OMi) we had OA agent installed on one of the server and Oracle MP is been deployed. OA agent creates Node CI type instance where Oracle MP creates oracle CI type instance. Both creates CIs using discovery.

Issue is at certain times we see Node CI type instance is been deleted and re-created. For example

Node CI is falam
Oracle CI is falamdb

Node CI is deleted and then re-created again with same name but with different UCMDB ID, but Oracle CI is not deleted.

How can I figure this in reconcilation logs.
