Hello punyapol,

If you upgrade ucmdb 8.07 to 9.05 you would need to upgrade the MS SQL Server to 2005 or 2008

I also notice that the DB is in the local host, the netstat -an did not show sqlserv.exe process running on port 1433

The service may not be running or it is running in a different port.

The memory of your server is 1GB, with is very low for ucmdb 9.0x or 10.0x since you are using the same server for DB.

Please review the support matrix and follow the system requirements.

Hello Punyapol,

What is the version of UCMDB? Note that version 10.01 supports SQL Server 2008.

Provide the output of System Information
http://<ucmdb_server_name>:8080/jmx-console
UCMDB:service=ServerServices
viewSystemInformation
[invoke]

If this is earlier version of UCMDB, Was ucmdb able to connect before? Please provide more details.

Best Regards,

Juan Calderon

Connection to DB was refused by DB server. Talk to your DBA.

To check this you can install MS SQL Management Studio to test this.

In addition to what Dima said, UCMDB 8.x is out of support.  If this is a new installation, please consider installing UCMDB 9.05 or 10.01.  If it is an existing installation, please consider upgrading.

You need to install 10.01 from http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00243350

And then CUP7 from http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00645623

Please be advice that there in direct upgrade from UCMDB 8.X to UCMDB 10.X.

My suggestion, is to install UCMDB 10.01 from scratch. Run full discovery cycle and have a look at results.

Re: Can not connect to the database..!!!

Hi All,

I am installing UCMDB 10.10 on a Vm server (windows 2008 R2) .

Selected Postgres Local database with database Port 5431

But installation failed with showing an error "Cannot initialize Postgres database!" and i had to cancel it.

Any idea why it is failing is there any prerequisites for installing it with local Postgres database?

Also i couldnt find any installation logfile which shows the error.

when i hit cancel then it creates a install logfile under UninstallData which had no information or error saying why it is failed?

Anyone had experienced this?
