Cannot get probe to function after upgrade to 10.01

Upgraded UCMDB from 9.05 to 10.01.  I installed the probe on a seperate server and started it up.  The probe is not reporting to UCMDB.  The probe error log only contains the following line:

<2013-08-07 10:42:32,604> [ERROR] [WrapperSimpleAppMain] (InfrastructureSettingsManager.java:130) - Infrastructure settings file: infrastructureSettings.xmlwas not found

This doesn't seem to be the issue though.  What log should I be looking at to try and pinpoint my issue?

Also the following is in the security.cmclient.log: <2013-08-07 14:42:49,770> [DEBUG] [CMClientConfigurationFilesInitialiserThread] (CMClient.java:596) - Failed to retrieve LWSSO_INIT_STRING from secured storage (Unable to retrieve from storage encrypted alias: LWSSO_INIT_STRING Read lock release status:Read lock was successfully released.).

Please clear the existing logs, reproduce the problem and upload logs from Probe (\runtime\logs) directory.

Re: Cannot get probe to function after upgrade to 10.01

I see the following error in the log :

<2013-08-08 08:04:32,838> [ERROR] [WrapperSimpleAppMain] (InfrastructureSettingsManager.java:130) - Infrastructure settings file: infrastructureSettings.xmlwas not found
<2013-08-08 08:04:32,942> [WARN ] [JobExecuterThread] (JobExecuter.java:2750) - Domain scope document is not available, yet (no Discovery jobs will be run). Please check if credentials / ip ranges are defined for this probe.

Check if DomainScopeDocument* exists on Server and Probe.

In case the problem persists,  verify if the necessary ports are open.

Re: Cannot get probe to function after upgrade to 10.01

Hello Adam,

Can you confirm if version of probe matches the server?

You can check the output of

<ucmdb-server-name:8080>/jmx-console

(default login sysadmin/sysadmin)

UCMDB:service=Service Services

viewSystemInformation

I saw this message:

<2013-08-07 10:01:50,498> [DEBUG] [main] (MainProbeUpgrade.java:46) - Directory E:\hp\UCMDB\DataFlowProbe\tools\upgrade\..\..\runtime\upgrade doesn't exist. No upgrade will be performed.

If the version matches, you can try a solution seen in a  similar issue:

Topic

After upgrade to uCMDB 10.01 probe wrapper.log shows:

Probe Gateway received 1 tasks from server. SEND_TOPOLOGY_DATA_TEMPLATE: 0 destinations. Total time to retrieve tasks [0] msec

Response

<ucmdb-server-name:8080>/jmx-console

(default login sysadmin/sysadmin)

UCMDB:service=History DB Services

run History DB Services > showHistoryTablesForType JMX command for any missing class (ex, nt)

run History DB Services > alignHistoryForType JMX command, leave the ciType empty to align history tables for all classes. (may take a while)   [if you get any error, restart ucmdb then try it again]

Regards,

Juan

Re: Cannot get probe to function after upgrade to 10.01

I redid the upgrade and now the probe works.
