Discovering CPU on ESX servers

Jump to solution

I have been discovering ESX servers using the VCenter Topology by VIM job for over a year now and a couple months ago for some unknown reason we stopped getting the CPU information on the ESX servers and the information has aged out of uCMDB.  Trying to figure out why this happened and how to rediscover these CPU's.  Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,

Have you changed the default value of reportBasicTopology?

It has to be set as "false" in order to discover the CPus:

Any results from ESX topology by VIM? Not the vCenter job, the ESX job.

Does the CommLog present any relevant data?

Did the VIM credentials change without your knowledge? There is in the documentation a specific permission over VIM for this HW resources.
