Discovery for n OS

Jump to solution

Hi Experts,

If the customer does not know how many OS are in his infrastructure, and I configure a license for 100 OS. Does UD discovers only 100 OS? Or does it discover all the infrastructure but the customer will have only access to the 100 OS he bought?

Thanks

Please check the following [latest version] UCMDB End-to-End Workflow Walkthrough Guide https://softwaresupport.hp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/KM02029699 for a description of the licensing.

"When discovering more Operating Systems than you are licensed for, you are still able to use the UCMDB Server. However, the server status is Non-compliant."

You can review the counted OS instances in the Licensed OSIs Report [description of how to do this is in the above manual].
